Stair Hardware and Brackets    The most common piece of stair hardware is the handrail bracket. Handrail brackets are used to support handrail that is running along a wall. Use of handrail brackets makes handrail sturdier and improves the stability for the user. Handrail brackets should be placed approximately 48” from each other. Normally, if a stairway is straight for the full length of a stairs, 4 brackets are necessary to ensure safety.
