Twist Series wrought iron balusters, 1/2″ square by 44″ tall. Twist Series are available in both Solid & Hollow.
The 16.1.4 is a dual basket baluster with a single twist between the baskets.
Solid balusters are more traditional and have the appearance of wrought iron. Hollow balusters have a smoother finish, without the character marks of wrought iron. Installers love hollow balusters since they are lighter in weight and can be cut at a fraction of the time.

The solid and hollow iron balusters are not much different in price. Why would one select one over the other? I am specifically looking for an indoor application although I may need an outdoor application as well.
The nice thing about hollow is that it’s less expensive to ship, and it’s easier to cut on the job site. Some people have a negative opinion of hollow, from their perception that it’s not as strong. While it’s not as ridged as solid, it’s definitely strong enough to be a safe product.
If you end up doing an outdoor section you would definitely want to go with the solid balusters, and you need to select the “Satin Black – Exterior” finish option. The standard finish that comes on the balusters isn’t rated for outdoor applications.
