Product Description

Returned End handrail has attached Returned End Fittings on both ends. Use handrail brackets to attach your handrail to the wall.

On handrail over 12 feet in length: The proper manufacturing process calls for some color and grain variation between the handrail and the returned ends (view additional image on the left for example).

6010 Colonial Handrail is 2 1/4” at its widest point & 2 3/8” at its tallest point. The 6010 handrail is the industry standard, and is used in more stairways in North America than any other handrail. 6010 handrail has a soft profile that is easy to install and easy to use with fittings.

Rarely, in some species joints will be necessary in longer handrails. Joints are always done with color and grain match as the priority.

Wood Grain & Color Variation

At StairSuppliesTM we strive to match the grain and color of all of our wood products as closely as possible. However, due to the natural character of wood products, there may be instances in which a perfect grain and color match is not possible. By ordering from StairSuppliesTM, you acknowledge that there may be some variation in the grain and color of your wood products.

Does the rerturned end add any length to the railing?
If I need a 10 ft overall length do I still order a 10′ long railing?

Hi Sherrie,

The returned end does not add any length to the handrail. So, if you need 10′, you do still order a 10′ long railing. Please let us know if there’s anything else we can help you with!

How many brackets do I need for an 8 foot, wall mounted handrail?

Hi Stephanie,

We recommend using a handrail bracket every 4ft on center, so for an 8ft long handrail, you’d want 3 brackets: 1 on either end, and one in the center.
