Purchase our wood samples in order to see the grain of the wood up close before making your final selection.
We strongly recommend you purchase samples if you’re looking at a specific stain. However, please keep in mind that wood is a natural material and significant variation from one board to another is possible. Your final product may not look exactly like the sample you receive (just think of the variety in hard wood flooring). The variety of the wood is one of the reasons it can provide such an elegant finish.
Samples vary in sizes from 3″ – 6″ in depth to 6″ – 10″ in width depending on the raw lumber we have available at the time.
You may purchase these with no finish, clear finish and in some wood species with a specific stain.
Wood Grain & Color Variation
At StairSuppliesTM we strive to match the grain and color of all of our wood products as closely as possible. However, due to the natural character of wood products, there may be instances in which a perfect grain and color match is not possible. By ordering from StairSuppliesTM, you acknowledge that there may be some variation in the grain and color of your wood products.
which wood would you suggest to paint. looking for small hand rail to attach on wall where the banister ends but still have four or five steps. the banister is painted coffee bean so I can’t go with stain.
Is there a wood that will stain to look similar to santos mahogany?
Do your samples translate into stain colors (MW-EBOY doesn’t mean much)? I’m looking for walnut stain (over white oak)
We don’t use marketing names like “walnut” or “honey oak”, because we feel they can be misleading. And if you get honey oak stained flooring from one company and then buy honey oak parts from us and they don’t match it will leave you frustrated. Which is why we simply use a formula code for all of our stains. That way you’re move focused on the image of what the stain looks like, than of what we called it.
I hope that helps!
