What is Alder Wood?
Alder is a tight grained wood that is light brown in color. Alder trees grow to be 8 feet to 10 feet tall which makes it difficult to make long handrail. All pieces of alder over 10 feet will need to be spliced. Alder is soft and light weight and is acceptable for wood stair parts but has limitations because of its softness and shortness.
Alder Stair Parts
Alder stair parts offer a versatile fine grained hardwood similar to cherry or maple and can be used for stairs and wood handrails for stairs.
