Fillet is used to hide the gaps between balusters on plowed handrail or shoerail. It will blend right in and create a smooth, finished look for your stairway.
Handrail and shoerail are plowed based on the size of balusters used. Select Fillet in a size equal to the size of plow on your handrail or shoerail.

Select the same species and finish as the rest of your stair components in order to achieve a cohesive look. Select the same Finish to receive Fillets treated with a Pre-catalyzed Lacquer to protect it against the natural oils from skin.

I have always gotten the railing fillet with the plowed railing at no extra cost. I was surprised to not receive it with my over 1,000.00 order. Disappointing.

Sorry you were disappointed by the fillet not being included. We have some customers that use the rail as a topper for an iron railing and they don’t want the fillet, which is why we separated the two items. Let me know if you still need it and I can get it shipped out quickly.
What are the complete dimensions? We’re looking for a handrail for the top of an iron railing that is roughly 1”h x 3”w x 8’ l. Not sure if this fits that need.

Handrail & Shoerail Fillet dimensions are as follows: For the 6250 profile, 1″ width & 3/8″ thick; for the 6255 profile, 1-1/4″ width & 3/8″ thick; for the 6260 profile, 1-3/4″ width & 3/8″ thick. Typically, Fillet is used to fill the gaps in the base of a plowed handrail, so it usually doesn’t make the best handrail option. If you’re looking for a wider handrail, we would suggest the 6005 Beverage Handrail.
