What is the overall dimension of the stair split foot cover except for this will fit 2″ post?

How do you recommend these be installed? How do they attach to each other? I have just two small metal tabs on the covers I received. They must be attached together and to the mounting surface. With what?
Hi Scott,
We suggest connecting the two halves of the foot cover with epoxy or silicon. Put a dab on each tab to join the two halves together around the post. Then, line the post base plate with the epoxy or silicon and put the foot cover on it to hold it into place. Please let us know if you have any other questions!
