Wire brushing is the process of using a metal bristled brush to create texture on a wooden surface. If done properly, this texture follows the natural lines of grain and helps emphasize the character and color of the wood. Wire brushing is especially practical on walking surfaces as it provides additional surface area and grooves to increase traction, compared to the smooth finish of a finely sanded tread.
