Thick Treads

Thick Stair Treads from StairSupplies™ are the defining element of floating stair systems and open-riser designs. At 2″ or greater thickness, these treads are finished on all four sides for 360° visibility — an important distinction in open-riser and floating stair applications where the tread edge is exposed from below.

Available in all 9 of our hardwood species and available in custom sizes upon request. Some customers also use thick treads for shelving, mantels, and countertops. Note that treads specified for floating stair systems may require custom routing and carry additional manufacturing costs.
