Product Description

StairSuppliesTM is a custom manufacturer of stair parts. All of our wood stair parts are made to order, out of solid lumber (no veneer). Use our custom tread tool to order custom parts online.

S4S board is an industry term meaning that all 4 sides have been flat edges on all 4 sides. These can be used for making trim pieces of shelves to match the wood material & finish on your staircase.

Depth: Refers to the depth of the body of the tread only, does not include any additional length from the return material (returns can be ordered in 1″ – 1 1/2″ length).
Width: Refers to the width of the body of the tread only, does not include any additional width from the return material (all returns are 1 1/4″ wide). Therefore, for a single return tread, you’ll receive a tread that is 1 1/4″ wider than the number you place in the “Width” column (double return will be 2 1/2″ wider).
Thickness: Depending on the thickness of your tread, and the availability of the lumber at the time of your order. Your treads will either be made standard style (3-6 pieces of wood edge glued to reach the depth), or butcher block style (6-10 pieces of wood turned on their side and face glued to reach the depth).

This tool is designed to allow you to purchase simple custom products. If you require a tread, platform or board that can’t be ordered through this design tool, please contact us at, and we’d be happy to assist you.

StairSuppliesTM reserves the right to contact you regarding price correction if there is a glitch in our system that results in a lower price than should be generated. Likewise, if for some reason the amount calculated is significantly higher than it should be, we will contact you regarding a credit. Both of these situations should only occur on extra-large items, like thick treads & platforms.
