StairSuppliesTM produces beautiful stair treads. Standard sizes are 1″ x 11 1/4″ and we welcome special orders. We carefully color select our lumber and machine it with precision so that you have a piece of fine furniture on your stairway. Measuring is easy for everyone to do. Stair treads are 1″ thick and 11 1/4″ deep (Includes 1 1/4″ bull nose in front). This product come in a variety of widths starting at 36″ and growing in 6″ increments to 72″. You can special order stair treads in any thickness, depth or width. StairSuppliesTM welcomes special orders when they are needed. A return is a piece that is attached to the side of the tread to give it a finished look when the side of the tread is exposed. To determine whether you need a right hand return or a left hand return; stand at the bottom of thee stairs and look up. If the right side is exposed you need a right hand (RH). If the left side is exposed then order a left hand (LH). If both sides are exposed then order a double return. The double return tread measurement is found by measuring the distance between both finished edges of your stairs. Double return treads can be ordered with the specific size that you need. Double return treads are measured between the ends of the returns.
All Left, Right and No Return treads are shipped with up to 1″ extra material on the end, which is trimmed to fit on site. If you need the product cut to exact dimensions, please specify in order notes.
Clear Finish & Stain Information:
StairSuppliesTM offers premium finish options, we select different products depending on the application (read more about our stain & finish selection). Whether you want a clear finish to draw out and protect the natural color of the wood, of you prefer a custom mixed stain to give your stair parts a more unique rich color, we have the expertise to give you the look you want.
We finish all our tread materials (anything you’ll step on) with a Conversion Varnish. This is the type of finish used in the hardwood flooring industry, it’s strong and designed to take lots of abuse. It’s nearly impossible for a homeowner to achieve this level of quality, because conversion varnishes must be sprayed on, and they are only sold at specialty stores.
Wood Grain & Color Variation
At StairSuppliesTM we strive to match the grain and color of all of our wood products as closely as possible. However, due to the natural character of wood products, there may be instances in which a perfect grain and color match is not possible. By ordering from StairSuppliesTM, you acknowledge that there may be some variation in the grain and color of your wood products.
At StairSuppliesTM we custom manufacturer all of our wood stair parts. Nothing is sitting on the shelf waiting to be purchased. Therefore we can customize any tread, with a special width, depth or thickness. Place your order online, and call to give us the custom specifications!
