Blended box newels feature a white painted box newel body with stain grade trim accents. This product is an attractive addition to homes with painted trim and painted balusters. The wood type selected above is the type of wood for the stain grade trim. If you select pre-finished then the trim will be pre-finished with our commercial clear coat. The body of the box newels is made from poplar or soft-maple and is ready to be painted or can be used with white provided. Box newels are crafted with great skill and match well with all of our handrail profiles. The 4691 has superior trim qualities and excellent joinery. This product is well complemented by the 4600 as a smaller box newel for landings and applications in smaller stairways. We recommend installation of box newels with our Box Newel Mounting Kit for a strong and reliable staircase.

Clear Finish & Stain Information:
StairSuppliesTM offers premium finish options, we select different products depending on the application (read more about our stain & finish selection). Whether you want a clear finish to draw out and protect the natural color of the wood, of you prefer a custom mixed stain to give your stair parts a more unique rich color, we have the expertise to give you the look you want. Blended Box Newels are finished with two different finishes:
Anything on the newel that is not primed, is finished with a pre-catalyzed lacquer. This type of finish is frequently used by kitchen cabinet builders because it’s designed to be more resistant to the natural oils that are on everyone’s skin. This means that the finish will remain consistent and give a beautiful look for a long time.
The primed portions of the newel are primed with a white vinyl primer. These parts come ready for a quick light sanding, and then can be painted in the specific color of your choice.
Wood Grain & Color Variation
At StairSuppliesTM we strive to match the grain and color of all of our wood products as closely as possible. However, due to the natural character of wood products, there may be instances in which a perfect grain and color match is not possible. By ordering from StairSuppliesTM, you acknowledge that there may be some variation in the grain and color of your wood products.
