| Starting Steps Do you need a customized starting step? We can help! Starting steps increase the visual proportions of a stairway welcoming you into your home and inviting you to walk up the stairway. Starting steps are the most common item to be customized on a stairs. The tread and the riser can be adapted to fit almost any stairway layout. Each of our standard starting steps are designed to match our stair handrail fittings. You can use a box newel, volute, or turn out to flow your handrail seamlessly around the curves of the step. Each starting step includes detail drawings to enable you to do a layout prior to installation.
