Stair Supplies produces beautiful stair treads. Standard sizes are 1" x 11 1/4" and we welcome special orders. We carefully color select our lumber and machine it with precision so that you have a piece of fine furniture on your stairway. Stair tread measuring is easy for everyone to do. Stair treads are 1" thick and 11 1/4" deep. Stair treads come in a variety of widths starting at 36" and growing in 6" increments to 72". You can special order stair treads in any thickness, depth or width. Stair Supplies welcomes special orders when they are needed. A return is a piece that is attached to the side of the tread to give it a finished look when the side of the tread is exposed. To determine whether you need a right hand return or a left hand return; stand at the bottom of thee stairs and look up. If the right side is exposed you need a right hand (RH) tread. If the left side is exposed then order a left hand (LH) tread. If both sides are exposed then order a double return tread. The double return tread measurement is found by measuring the distance between both finished edges of your stairs. Double return treads can be ordered with the specific size that you need.
