Starting Steps

Are your looking for a customized starting step for your stairway? We can help!

Stair starting steps increase the visual proportions of a stairway welcoming you into your home and inviting you to walk up the stairway. Starting steps such as our 8010 starting step, are the most common item to be customized on stairs. The stair treads and riser can be adapted to fit almost any stairway layout including curved or rounded stairway steps. Each of our standard starting steps are designed to match our stair handrail fittings. You can use a box newel, stair volute, or turn out to flow your handrail seamlessly around the curves of the step. Each stairway starting step includes detail drawings to enable you to do a layout prior to installation. Also, the curved risers in our starting steps are solid wood and are constructed by cutting and bending the stair riser until it matches the curve of the stair tread.
